Identity Theft

You can put your cash in a safe and lock the doors to your house but what can you do about identity theft? It is done by obtaining some one’s social security number, credit card numbers, ATM card and other forms of ID. This information is used as a way to impersonate someone and spend at much of their money in the least about of time.
As a way to prevent this from happening to you, never carry any important documents with you, unless you must. Your social security card only needs to be seen by an employer and then it should not remain in your wallet. When you order new checks from the bank, tell them you will pick them up at the bank and not to let them be mailed to you.
When you are choosing passwords for online business, don’t use your birth date or address numbers. Criminals can easily try the obvious numbers first when trying to access your accounts. You financial institution should not allow your account number to show up on receipts and should shred documents before throwing them away.
